DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This trainee position participates in a variety of drug and alcohol use and abuse prevention activities. Our team works in conjunction with local school districts and other partners to educate and inform school students, staff, families, and all community members regarding the use and abuse of drugs and alcohol. As a Drug & Alcohol Prevention Specialist Trainee, you will learn and perform the following duties:
- Public Speaking:
Provide programs, presentations, and events regarding drug and alcohol use and abuse; speak effectively to various audiences - Information Sharing:
Distribute a wide variety of media including printed information, movies, and more to enhance awareness of drug and alcohol related issues - Community
Collaboration:
Participate in community groups and coalitions aimed to prevent substance use and abuse among school students by promoting healthy lifestyles and enhancing protective factors - Planning Assistance:
Research, analyze, and interpret data form local schools and communities to help with prevention planning - Report Preparation:
Complete service related data entry, record keeping, and reports to meet county and state requirements
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position. - Salary:

- A bachelor’s degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
