PositionDescription:
Are you passionate about helping others conquer their mental health obstacles with your own lived experience? As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you’ll provide hope, understanding, and empowerment through shared experience—making a real difference every day and friendships to last a lifetime.
- Inspire hope in individuals through community-based 1:1 peer support
- Your job is designed to promote empowerment and self-determination
- Building trust through your lived experience and offering tools to help others achieve growth
- Knowledge of and experience in the recovery process from having a mental health diagnosis and having reached a point in your recovery pathway where you can positively support others in similar situations
- Eighteen (18) years of age and older
- Have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (preferred)
- Has completed a peer specialist certification training curriculum approved by the state Of Pennsylvania
- Criminal History Clearances – PA State Police Clearance, Child Abuse, FBI
