Van Driver; Local Government

Position

We are hiring dependable, compassionate drivers to provide door-to-door transportation for county residents, including helping seniors access essential services and appointments. If you enjoy helping others, working independently, and making a difference in your community, this part‑time opportunity is for you.

• Operate assigned vehicles safely for scheduled consumer transport
• Assist consumers entering, exiting, and moving between locations while carrying needed packages
• Use radios, tablets, or phones to coordinate with office staff and follow scheduled routes
• Complete pre‑trip checks and clean vehicle interiors daily
• Maintain respectful relationships with consumers, office staff, and other drivers
• Protect personal and medical information during all interactions

• Part‑time employment (14 to 21+ hours per week)
• Transportation operates 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturdays
• Telework is not an option for this position
• Salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases

• One year of employment requiring operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty, or an equivalent combination of experience and training

• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
• No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years
• Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement
• Must be able to perform essential job functions

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening
• Must pass a background investigation
• Position falls under Child Protective Services Law requiring satisfactory criminal history reports such as PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
