ResponsibilitiesThe Material Handler performs daily distribution yard activities for a facility. Responsibilities include operating forklift, receiving, storing, and shipping/building of loads, ensuring loads match orders prior to vehicle exiting yard, and performing customer service activities. The role requires broad knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations, alertness and adaptation to warehouse routines, basic mathematical calculations, maintaining good housekeeping, and complying with safety programs and OSHA regulations.
The Material Handler demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement, and may perform additional duties assigned.
Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma, GED or two (2) years equivalent work experience; ability to understand and communicate safety and other work-related instructions; capability to work in a warehouse environment with considerable physical exertion and all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of building material products and engineered wood products, ability to understand and measure lengths of material required, general warehouse experience including industrial forklift operation and knowledge of warehouse work environment.
