Strip & Test Operator - Off Shift Job Alliance area,Nebraska USA,Manufacturing / Production

Position Summary

Responsible to conduct integrity test of hose by using pressurized water. Operator will also expel mandrel from hose.

Essential Functions

Must be capable of following and meeting standard work requirements for assembly, packaging, processing, and inspection of final product.

Assure all necessary documents are properly prepared and completed.

Ensure quality by:

Performing quality inspections
Pressure checking hoses to specification requirements
Identifying and eliminating known defects
Ensuring the final product meets customer requirements
Documenting good and non‑conforming products
Providing required samples to the QA department
Detecting and reporting problem areas or unusual conditions to the supervisor

Operator will prioritize job duties based on information obtained from the Work Leader/Value Stream Team Leader.

Department Specific/Non‑Essential Functions

Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, eliminating risk to health and the environment.
Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating equipment efficiently.
Maintain production schedules.
Participate in peer‑based teams and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5‑S.
Other duties may be assigned later.

Minimum Requirements

Education required:

High School diploma or GED.
Experience:

Production work preferred but not required.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Basic knowledge and use of hand tools
- Sound decision‑making skills
- Good math, reading, and writing skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Mental and visual acuity for quality production
- Strong troubleshooting skills
Skills and competencies:
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office package
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Other:
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Assessment:
Employee must pass pre‑employment screening.

Organizational Relationships / Scope

Report directly to the Value Stream Team Leader.
Work closely with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues.

Physical Conditions

Standing is required for extended periods. Repetitive tasks such as bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and grasping are performed frequently; climbing, carrying, stooping, kneeling, and overhead lifting occur occasionally. Lifting loads up to 30 pounds is frequent, with occasional lifting up to 60 pounds. No lifting above shoulder level is required. Visual and mental acuity for quality production is essential.

Working Conditions

Required personal protective equipment: safety glasses, ANSI Z41 safety shoes, hearing protection, and Kevlar gloves.

Requires high manual dexterity and may occur under restrictive conditions.

Flexible hours and short notice for overtime are required.

Operation may cause exposure to water; wet clothing or shoes/boots is possible.
