Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Summary
Must be able to troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment in several maintenance systems (i.e.) machining, electrical, plumbing, or welding. Must maintain a full general tool assortment as well as a basic assortment of precision measuring tools. Must be responsible for maintenance of equipment records, and administration of preventative maintenance programs. Must be able to read blueprints and plans for construction at plant level.
EssentialFunctions
Education required/ desired: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machining or completion of an apprenticeship is preferred.
Experience: At least one year of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment is typically required.

Qualifications:
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with vendors concerning technical problems.
- Must have the ability to plan and organize tasks efficiently.
- Must have a strong sense of urgency.
- Must have a practical and demonstrated understanding of a specific trade skill, with a working knowledge of one or more additional specific skills.
- Must have an understanding of low‑pressure steam applications, high‑pressure water, high‑pressure hydraulic, pneumatic, with the ability to troubleshoot these systems.
Skills /
Competencies:
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office package.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to use all general mechanical hand tools and light power tools.
- Knowledge of light machine shop tools.
Other
Skills:
- Must be willing to share knowledge and efficiently train others. Must be able to direct maintenance personnel and production employees in a team player atmosphere.
- Attention to detail:
Strong focus on producing high‑quality work and adhering to safety protocols. - Problem‑solving:
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery and production processes.
Employee must pass pre‑employment screening.
Organizational Relationships / Scope- Report directly to the Plant Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
- Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment.
- Work may require incidentally to frequently lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Tasks include repetitive motions, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Work may involve standing for extended periods, carrying, bending, and frequent use of lifting and pulling.
