Infusion Registered Nurse
The Infusion Registered Nurse is responsible for administering medications on an outpatient basis. The RN will coordinate care with pharmacies, labs, ordering provider clinic, specialty pharmacies, insurance auth and a variety of other departments. The schedule is weekday hours, but it may vary. The RN must be a self-motivated professional with a strong desire to adapt and a flexible work schedule when needed.
At times, it will be floated to other nursing departments as needed.
Receives orders from providers and schedules appointments for patients.
Receives patients, explains procedures, checks vital signs and administers therapy, monitors reactions and reports to the ordering provider.
It provides infusion treatments such as hydration, blood and blood components, specialty medications, chemo pump removal, injections and antibiotics.
Will become a subject-matter expert on Central Venous Access Devices.
Performs other duties as assigned. Attendance is essential.
Education: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
Provides nursing care to patients throughout the lifespan.
Licensure/Certification s
Nebraska RN license, or license from participating Compact State
BLS for healthcare workers
ACLS within one year of hiring for the position
PALS within one year of hiring for the position
Basic Chemotherapy Course completion within one year of hire to position
Due to changing organizational needs, work hours may vary.
Post-offer/pre-employment background check and drug screen are required.
