Community Action Partnerships of Western Nebraska (CAPWN) is a non-profit community-based health and human services organization that serves low-income, disadvantaged and those unable to meet their needs through other sources. The agency was established in 1965 and provides services to over 9,000 individuals, children and families in three main areas:

* Community Health Services: WIC, Commodity Supplemental Food, Foster Grandparents, Head Start, and Child Development Center.

* Clinical Health Services:
Primary Care, Reproductive Health, Diabetes Management, Immunizations, Migrant Health, Ryan White HIV;
Behavioral Health including Counseling Services, Medication Management, Medication Assisted Treatment and Substance Use Counseling and Intensive Outpatient Services and Dental Services.

* Supportive Health Services:

Head Start Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher

Seasonal Fulltime - Alliance CAPWN Head Start

April through October

8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday

Areas of Responsibility:
Assist Teacher to implement the education and family engagement objectives through daily operation of the classroom in accordance with Dept. of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Head Start Performance Standards, Nebraska state childcare licensing, and CAPWN policies & procedures.

Major Duties:

* Establish a classroom structure implementing program curriculum to fidelity and developmentally appropriate practices.

* Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing educational environment that ensures a quality child development program.

* Partner and communicate with families in a skilled, respectful, and sensitive manner to strengthen families as the primary nurturers of their children to enhance growth and development.

* Translate communication between program, child and family using family's primary language when appropriate.

* Partner with the teacher to plan and implement individualized activities to support child goals and optimally enhance growth and development.

* Partner with the teacher to provide a well-managed program that supports regular communication, program documentation, team goals, and reports in a timely manner.

* Effectively use and maintain materials, supplies, equipment, facilities, and grounds; ensure facility meets local, state, and federal requirements.

* Encourage volunteer and community involvement and support for the program documented by non-federal match.

* Recruit eligible children to ensure full enrollment.
