Collsion Center Estimator

Lavery Automotive, Alliance, Ohio

We are looking for an experienced Collision Center Estimator for our growing Collision Center at Lavery Automotive.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to accurately assess damage (structural, mechanical, cosmetic) through thorough visual inspection and basic testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to explain damage, repair plans, and costs in plain language to customers, insurers, and technicians.
  • Strong customer service mindset, understanding customers are often stressed and need empathy, patience, and reassurance.
  • Problem solving skills for supplementing hidden damage, negotiating with insurers, and resolving discrepancies in estimates or repair plans.
  • Knowledge of major insurance protocols and can upload estimates/images that meet those standards accordingly.
  • Basic understanding of shop profitability (labor rates, parts margins, cycle time, CSI) and writing estimates that are both accurate and sustainable for the business.
  • I-Car or other industry training history
  • Working knowledge of CCC System or CDK is a plus.
  • Possess an acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and appraise customer's vehicles to determine the cost of repairs for damages that will be billed as insurance claim or customer expense
  • Ensure relationships with various insurance providers as we are a direct repair center for many carriers.
  • Self motivated with the ability to set and achieve targeted goals
  • Strong time management to juggle multiple estimates, customer updates, supplements, and deliveries without delaying repairs.
  • Ability to multitask while staying organized—tracking where each vehicle is in the process and what’s needed next (parts, insurer approval, technician notes).
  • Reliable record keeping and documentation from first photo and estimate through final invoice and repair file.
