Fundamental ObjectivesThe University of Mount Union seeks a full‑time Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions to attend to all graduate, post‑baccalaureate, and post‑graduate certificate enrollment goals. This individual will work under the Director of Admissions to promote the university’s graduate programs—Master of Education, Master of Business Administration, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, MSN Family Nurse Practitioner, and M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies—while supporting recruitment of the BSN and graduate certificates.
The role requires regular travel, including overnight and out‑of‑state trips, to foster relationships with community and educational partners.
- Collaborate with graduate program directors, the Dean of Graduate, the Director of Admission, and the Office of Marketing to develop and execute enrollment plans.
- Communicate actively with graduate program directors and lead regular enrollment meetings.
- Travel as needed throughout the year, focusing on graduate fairs and assisting program directors in establishing and maintaining partnerships. Must maintain a valid, non‑suspended Ohio driver’s license and meet the criteria to operate a University vehicle.
- Schedule and execute program‑specific recruitment events each academic year.
- Build and maintain partnerships with corporations and external organizations to increase enrollment in all graduate, post‑baccalaureate, and post‑graduate programs.
- Communicate with prospective students regarding admission, following a structured plan that includes phone calls and email/letter drafting.
- Hold regular on‑campus meetings with prospective students and program directors.
- Collaborate with program directors to review admission files and record admission decisions in Slate.
- Track, analyze, and report on admission metrics to inform data‑driven decisions and process improvements.
- Provide development and oversight of an annual budget.
- Work with the Athletics Department, faculty, and campus staff as appropriate.
- Participate as an active member of the Office of Admission at all events, which may include evenings and weekends.
- Ensure integrity and consistency of recruitment data across all graduate, post‑baccalaureate, and post‑graduate certificate programs.
- Provide training opportunities for Office of Admission staff on graduate programs and enrollment processes.
- Engage in professional growth through continuing education courses, professional organizations, seminars, workshops, current literature, and community contacts.
- Collaborate with the Director of Admission to maintain effective communication flows for prospective graduate students.
- Participate in University compliance training as directed by the University and Director of Admission.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree required. Preference for candidates with a master’s degree. - Experience in higher education, especially small, private graduate programs, is preferred.
- At least two years of experience within an admissions office and experience optimizing the enrollment funnel for graduate, distance, or adult learners.
- Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills for effective marketing of the university.
- Demonstrated project‑management, multi‑tasking, and problem‑solving experience, working independently or as part of a team.
- Valid, non‑suspended driver’s license required; candidate must meet the criteria to drive a University vehicle.
