Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Administer medications safely, including insulin drips and advanced drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone (no pressors).
• Manage airway support involving vents, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow, and Airvo devices.
• Coordinate patient care across hospital departments, acting as the main point of contact.
• Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize and implement interventions for ICU stepdown patients with multi-system organ failure or trauma.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety advocacy, and family communication.
• Float across similar or lower acuity units when needed to maintain staffing flexibility.
Qualifications and Desired
Experience:
• Current RN license in an appropriate state or compact nursing license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications; NIH Stroke Certification highly preferred.
• At least 1 year of RN experience with a minimum of 6 months in acute care preferred.
• Strong ventilator management skills and experience with higher acuity patients.
• Critical care or progressive care certification (CCRN, PCCN) preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC EHR system and critical care nursing courses is beneficial.

This is a contract nursing opportunity requiring night shifts on a 12-hour schedule, carrying ratios typically between 1:4-5, with support from CNAs. Candidates must have completed or be prepared to complete a dysrhythmia exam. Due to the specialized nature of the role, local candidates will not be considered. Flexibility to float within the hospital's stepdown and intermediate care units is expected.
