DescriptionSummary
Maintenance Specialist provides all-encompassing responsibility for a specific maintenance function responsibility and/or multiple maintenance functions as a specialty. Including but not limited to: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, masonry, carpentry, crane, mobile equipment, grounds, machine, hydraulic, power tools, welding equipment, computer aided operations equipment, robotics.
Shift hours are Mon - Fri 7am - 5:30pm with additional overtime.
Pay Range: $27.50 - $36.25
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform and abide by safety policies and procedures while performing related assignments.
- Maintain an organized, clean, safe and healthy working environment.
- Repair, detect malfunctions, and regularly maintain equipment and/or physical structures, associated with specialty.
- Works independently and brings projects and repairs to a completion in a timely manner.
- Maintain tooling, accessories, and equipment in safe, clean and in good working condition.
- Focus is primarily maintenance projects that fall within the work specialty including the coordination of other projects, equipment, tools, parts and schedules while reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- May keep inventory of maintenance supplies, materials, and may indicate when items need to be ordered.
- May enter information related to specialty into inventory data system.
- Analyze repair request and troubleshoot.
- Conduct emergency maintenance and repair works.
- Provide assistance to co-workers as needed and directed.
- Attend job training and safety programs organized by the maintenance department, EHS, and H.R.
- Adhere to company policies, safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
- Perform maintenance tasks based on pictures, blueprints, written descriptions, and oral instructions from Supervisor, including technical diagrams.
- Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or non-conformance to specifications.
- Follow industry best practices, applicable codes/regulations, and/or plant standards for all work activities.
- Perform, understand, comprehend, and communicate basic math functions primarily related to all facets of Maintenance Specialty.
- Clean and keep organized work areas during and at the end of the shift.
- Any other related duties assigned.

- Ability to communicate, abide by, verify, and logically respond to safety policies, procedures, and concerns.
- Four years of experience in facilities maintenance to include all phases of preventive and corrective maintenance, including industrial and/or commercial facilities maintenance associated with specialty.
- Must be skilled in the use of the tools, materials, and equipment of the specialty trade.
- Strong understanding of a variety of repair techniques and tooling operations associated with specialty.
- Career record must include the demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Minimum intermediate level computer skills with MS Office experience to include spreadsheets, word processing, and e-mail.
- Demonstrate ability to successfully perform basic math and measurement functions.
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and comprehend job specifications, measurements, blueprints, and/or detailed drawings.
- Oral comprehension and expression skills to listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally and then effectively communicate the information and ideas verbally.
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period without being distracted.
- Ability to work assigned shift schedule.
- Ability to work alone or as a team.
- Ability to don and doff personal protective equipment needed for specialty, including willingness and ability to pass a Respirator Fit test if respirator is needed.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Possession of Certification in area of specialty is preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to maneuver larger objects with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and be at heights (heights dependent upon specialty) throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or plant environment while maneuvering self throughout the work areas and/or products or equipment.
- Standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, handling, talking, and hearing. Some requirements may be dependent upon bona fide occupational qualifications related to specialty assignment.
- Personal Protective Equipment don and doff associated with specialty.
- Ability to perform some tasks outside in all seasons of weather.
