Drive employee engagement by enabling a positive work environment that inspires, motivates, challenges, supports and provides ongoing recognition for exceptional performance. Responsible for leading relationship‑building efforts, efficient operations of a full service banking center and ensuring proper training and development of staff to provide excellent customer service. Directs overall sales and service initiatives of the location, assumes a proactive role in customer interaction and service to include meeting with customers, discussing their specific banking needs in person at the branch and at the customer’s location.
Work closely with business partners to service existing and prospective customers. Expected to spend significant time conducting outside sales efforts directed at prospecting business and retail customers, centers of influence and to participate in community service opportunities in the market. This person may be assigned to more than one office. From an operational standpoint, BCM provides oversight to ensure that all established policies, procedures, and security measures are followed.
Responsibilities also include assisting in hiring, supervising, training and coaching staff to achieve bank service, sales and operational objectives.
Personally model the standards of the bank’s mission, vision, and pledge. Effectively assess the financial needs of banking center clients and make appropriate recommendations to fulfill those needs. Consistently meet and exceed banking center sales goals for loans, deposits, partner referrals and profitability. Promote a sales culture within the banking center and ensure staff receives proper management, coaching, and training to demonstrate abilities to sell and cross‑sell products to reach individual and team sales goals.
Communicate staff goals and work at meeting these goals, continually monitoring performance against the banking center goals and adjusting individual goals and initiating sales promotions as needed. Lead the development of small business banking opportunities through calling efforts, originations or referrals to achieve sales goals. Oversee and personally contribute to branch consumer production and growth to achieve budgeted results. Set priorities, direct and delegate responsibilities to staff, and follow through on implementation of designated activities.
Promote company products and services in the community to assist in the continued growth of the bank. Handle operational aspects of the banking center, including audits and reports, monitoring control accounts, cash levels, management of cash items, and control of over/short. Actively participate in recruitment and selection of personnel and assist in training, coaching and development of banking center staff.
Ensure sales and staff meetings are consistently conducted, staff well informed. Communicate job expectations and evaluate performance against those expectations on a consistent basis providing continual coaching, guidance, and counseling. Prepare and deliver fair, measurable and constructive performance evaluations and recommend salary increases and promotions as appropriate. Represent the bank by actively participating in functions and meetings of local service clubs, community groups and other civic or non‑profit organizations.
Provide service to customers and prospective customers on various banking matters including explaining products and resolving problems. Build successful working relationships with internal business partners, providing constructive peer feedback when appropriate. Demonstrate sound judgment and decision making by following established guidelines and procedures while utilizing appropriate resources for assistance when needed. Maintain prescribed security controls to protect the office against criminal and fraudulent operations.
