Job Title:
Junior Buyer – MRO
Position Summary:
Supports procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials to ensure plant uptime and operational efficiency. Responsible for processing purchase orders, maintaining inventory levels for critical spare parts, and coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Essential
Job Duties:
Create and manage purchase orders for MRO materials (spare parts, tools, consumables, safety supplies)
Monitor inventory levels and reorder critical parts to prevent downtime
Expedite urgent and emergency orders to support maintenance and production needs
Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules
Track open orders and resolve delivery or quality issues
Maintain accurate item master data, supplier records, and pricing in ERP system
Partner with maintenance, engineering, and storeroom teams to understand requirements
Source alternative parts or suppliers when needed
Support cost reduction initiatives through price comparisons and supplier consolidation
Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures
The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in manufacturing or plant environment
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)Knowledge of industrial suppliers (Grainger, Fastenal, Motion, MSC, etc.)Work Environment /
Physical Requirements:
Works in both office and plant environments
May require occasional walking through production or maintenance areas
Ability to respond to urgent situations and shifting priorities
