Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician – oversee and repair refrigeration HVAC equipment within Walmart facilities, using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines by performing work according to Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work safely at heights.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to pass MVR.
• 18 years or older, high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or Technical heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) certification; 2–4 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R.

• Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located.
