The City of Alliance is anticipating an opening for the position of Full‑time Foreman in the Alliance Street Department. Applications are available at the Mayor's Office, 504 East Main Street, Alliance, Ohio or  and must be returned to the Mayor's Office by Monday, August 3, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Works under the supervision of the Superintendent of the Street Department in maintaining and repair of streets and alleys, right‑of‑ways and all department equipment, should be capable of performing all duties in the Department;

EXAMPLES OF WORK: Assist in the direction of work of the various construction crews in the repair and maintenance of street and alley surfaces, City parking lots, ditches, culverts, curbs, signs, pavement markings, collection of leaves, ice control, snow removal, building and equipment maintenance and repairs. Inspect the work done by the crews, give assistance where needed.

REQUIRED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the principals of street maintenance required. Ability to assign work and supervise a group of men and women. An employee in this classification should have the ability and skill in the operation of all construction tools and equipment.

Must be a high school graduate and in good physical condition. Must have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Five (5) years experience preferred. Starting wage is $28.96 per hour.
