Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of maintenance duties to support production machinery and plant facility equipment.
- Respond to emergency and unscheduled equipment breakdowns during production, and perform scheduled maintenance during planned machine service periods.
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, technical repair manuals, electrical schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Safely operate material‑handling equipment, including forklifts and scissor lifts.
- Perform basic machine tasks as required to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Apply a broad set of mechanical skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
- Review and interpret work orders and equipment manuals to complete maintenance and service tasks accurately.
- Diagnose equipment issues, repair or replace components, test functionality, and make necessary adjustments.
- Assist with and perform routine preventive maintenance on production machines, equipment, and facility systems.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and material‑handling equipment to complete assigned tasks.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, defective materials, and unusual operating conditions to appropriate supervision.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain clean, organized, and orderly work areas at all times.
- The physical demands outlined below represent those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
- This position requires regular communication, including speaking and hearing.
- The role is highly active and involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- The employee must frequently lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, and Industrial Maintenance or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of Manufacturing experience; strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with a background in production maintenance.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong math skills.
- Dedicated and takes pride in providing a high level of detail toward equipment maintenance, projects, general housekeeping, and maintaining all shop areas in a neat and organized fashion.
- Manufacturing, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills required.
- Knowledge of equipment used in the plastic extrusion industry is preferred but not required.
