Ecologist

Ecologist - Milton Keynes A growing environmental consultancy is opening a brand-new office near Milton Keynes and they're looking for an Ecologist to join the team. This is an opportunity to become one of the founding members of a new team, helping shape the culture, influence projects and build something from the ground up. Working across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, infrastructure and conservation projects, the successful candidate will have the freedom to manage their own workload while collaborating with experienced colleagues across the wider business.

From protected species surveys and habitat assessments to report writing and client liaison, no two weeks will look the same. This role would suit someone who enjoys balancing fieldwork with technical expertise, values high-quality ecological outcomes and wants to be part of a company where ideas are listened to rather than lost in layers of management. What's on Offer;
The chance to help establish a brand-new Milton Keynes office. A competitive salary with regular reviews. Hybrid and flexible working to support a healthy work-life balance. Enhanced annual leave, with additional days awarded for long service. Paid professional membership subscriptions. Ongoing training, mentoring and support towards protected species licences and career progression. Company pension scheme. Employee wellbeing programme. Paid volunteering days to support local environmental initiatives.

Team socials and company-wide events. A collaborative, down-to-earth culture where everyone's contribution genuinely matters. What They're Looking For;
Experience delivering ecological surveys and producing technical reports. A good understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy. Protected species survey licences would be an advantage but are not essential. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with clients and multidisciplinary teams. A full UK driving licence. For an ecologist looking to have a real influence on both projects and the future of a growing office, this is an opportunity to join at exactly the right time.
