Skilled Highways Operative

You will lead or be part of a team and will carry out highways repairs/maintenance tasks including:

• Modular and block paving
• Laying in‑situ concrete and associated steel reinforcement
• Associated iron work (i.e., manholes, gullies, valve cases)
• Laying kerb and channels
• Installing and repairing all types of drainage pipes and systems and operating mechanical jetting plant
• Fitting formwork and shoring‑up equipment
• Fitting metal concrete bollards and excavation work

• Valid driving licence
• Previous experience in Highways and Construction
• NVQ L2 or equivalent qualification
• The ability to understand complex detailed spoken and written instructions, as well as plans, drawings, schedules and calculate work requirements and keep accurate work records
• Able to plan, organise and prioritise resources and staff, including own time
