This is a full‑time role for an Experienced CPA/Potential Partner located in Alpena, MI (on‑site preferred, but hybrid considered). The role is a senior leadership position with the intention of a partnership role in the near future. As the practice is heavily tax‑oriented, the role involves overseeing tax preparation for businesses, individuals, and nonprofit organizations as well as managing and executing financial statement engagements for clients, ensuring compliance with accounting and tax‑preparation standards, and firm business development.
The candidate will oversee client accounts/relationships, provide tax preparation/planning and accounting advisory services, and collaborate with team members to deliver high‑quality services. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential as the position has the potential to transition into a partnership role, involving business development and client relationship management.
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements and providing accounting/business advisory services
- Extensive experience in tax preparation and compliance, including tax preparation software
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required
- Ability to execute financial statement engagements - compilation, review, AUP
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations
- Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills
- Excellent client communication both verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of Quick Books and Ultra Tax software a plus
- Relationship management abilities
- Strong attention to detail
