Part Time Instructor Job Search Strategies

This position will teach Job Search Strategies courses. Part Time Faculty normally teach one or two courses per semester. Teaching assignments may be available for day and evening courses.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Career Technical Education (CTE) preferred, OR Associate's degree in Human Resources or Career Technical Education or related field with 5 years of work experience OR recognized industry tested credential (SHRM, HRCI, CTE, etc.) and 5 years of work experience. Strong working knowledge of teaching methods required. Teaching experience in a higher education setting preferred. Computer competency in word processing, instructional software and online instruction preferred.

Teach lecture portion of courses. Prepare and distribute course syllabi to students. Evaluate student progress through examinations, quizzes, observations and laboratory reports. Act as liaison between the College and the student. Participate in curriculum development, revisions and evaluation activities. Maintain a high level of academic competency through staff development activities. Other duties as assigned by Department Chairperson and the Vice President of Instruction.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit for extended periods of time; and have sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
