Salary: $19.54 to $29.31 (based upon experience)
Days: Monday through Friday
Hours: 40 hours per week
Duties RoleA Consumer Loan Processor understands, communicates, and works to achieve and follow the Credit Union's mission and member promise statements. Assists members with loan requests. Provides clerical and administrative support to process and close member loans.
Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesInterviews members in person or by telephone to assist them in preparing loan applications. Obtains personal and financial information. Answers questions and advises members of loan options, repayment schedules, interest rates, collateral requirements, and other loan details.
Gathers and organizes required supporting documents for loan closings. Verifies and examines documents for accuracy and completeness. Refers the loan to a Loan Officer for review and approval.
Contacts members concerning acceptance or rejection of loan applications. Sets up appointments for loan closings.
Disburses loan funds. Files loan documents with appropriate agencies.
Identifies opportunities to cross-sell new or additional services or products to members.
Enters and maintains accurate loan information on computer operating system and prepares required reports for management.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements Performance MeasurementsExperience One year to three years of similar or related experience.
EducationA high school education or GED.
Interpersonal SkillsWork involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other SkillsGeneral office equipment such as calculators, computers, photocopiers, and scanners. Demonstrates carefulness about detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Working knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
