Courier​/Swing Drvr​/DOT

Responsibilities

Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick‑up of packages; checks shipments against Fed Ex service features; covers all assigned routes within the station’s service area; provides related customer service functions; performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED.

Six (6) months of courier experience preferred. Must demonstrate area knowledge.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment or assistance. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Thorough knowledge of the station’s service area preferred. Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak English to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions according to FMCSA guidance.

Neat appearance required for customer contact. Must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with state requirements and have a good driving record as outlined in policy. Non-covered safety‑sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

22.30 – 33.84 USD hourly.

Full‑time, Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturday 8:00 am–8:00 pm hours depending on the route being covered. Desired location:
Alpena, MI. Employees will be required to work at the Fed Ex location five days a week.
