Ensure all accounting activities are completed accurately and in compliance with GAAP. Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and support team members. Identify opportunities for process improvement through technology and promote the effective use of tools to enhance efficiency and maintain high-quality work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly financial close process for assigned clients, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, creating and reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, management & leasing fee calculations and report preparation.
- Ensure prompt, consistent communication with internal and external clients.
- Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures.
- Liaison for establishing and managing bank accounts.
- Review tenant lease files (as needed).
- Provide support and leadership for A/R and A/P Specialists.
- Assist with annual budgets and cash forecast for properties managed.
- Assist with various projects as needed.
- Coordinate with the development team and record entries in ERP system
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and via email.
Attention to detail and critical thinking.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects.
Must be deadline driven.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Must be diligent and proactive.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university; and three-five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office:
Excel, Word, PowerPoint. - Experience with MRI and Avid Xchange preferred.
- Experience in Real Estate industry preferred.
- Experience with investment fund accounting and PE transactions is a plus.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background, credit and drug screen.
