Position Summary:

Ensure all accounting activities are completed accurately and in compliance with GAAP. Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and support team members. Identify opportunities for process improvement through technology and promote the effective use of tools to enhance efficiency and maintain high-quality work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the monthly financial close process for assigned clients, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, creating and reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, management & leasing fee calculations and report preparation.
  • Ensure prompt, consistent communication with internal and external clients.
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Liaison for establishing and managing bank accounts.
  • Review tenant lease files (as needed).
  • Provide support and leadership for A/R and A/P Specialists.
  • Assist with annual budgets and cash forecast for properties managed.
  • Assist with various projects as needed.
  • Coordinate with the development team and record entries in ERP system
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and via email.

Attention to detail and critical thinking.

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects.

Must be deadline driven.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Must be diligent and proactive.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university; and three-five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office:
    Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with MRI and Avid Xchange preferred.
  • Experience in Real Estate industry preferred.
  • Experience with investment fund accounting and PE transactions is a plus.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background, credit and drug screen.
