Role Summary
The Intersect Group is seeking a Senior GL Accountant to support the full general ledger lifecycle, drive accuracy in financial reporting, and collaborate with cross?functional partners across operations, finance, and IT. This role is open due to internal promotion and sits within a growing, well?structured accounting team.
You will lead key components of the close process, reconcile complex accounts, perform variance analyses, and support both policy development and system enhancements. This position offers visibility, process?improvement ownership, and potential future growth as the department expands.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting activities across monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including accruals and intercompany activity.
• Generate and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for operations and finance.
• Conduct variance analysis on P&L and balance sheet accounts, identifying trends and resolving discrepancies.
• Coordinate and reconcile intercompany transactions for proper account balancing.
• Partner with Accounts Payable to investigate and resolve AP accrual issues.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Partner with finance, operations, and IT to drive continuous process improvements.
• Support ERP enhancements and ensure data integrity within inventory modules.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX requirements, and internal accounting standards.
• Provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years of GL or corporate accounting (manufacturing or distribution experience preferred).
• Experience working with large ERP systems; Oracle Fusion/Oracle Cloud strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and strong data analysis capabilities.
• Ability to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem?solving skills.
• Open to candidates coming from public accounting, manufacturing, or inventory?focused environments.

Preferred Skills

• Oracle Cloud/Fusion experience.
• CPA certification or active CPA pursuit.
• Solid understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and inventory accounting.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with operations, finance, and IT.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
