Project Accountant

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join their growing accounting team in Alpharetta. This position will play a key role in supporting project financials, job costing, budgeting, and overall accounting operations.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in project accounting, construction accounting, job costing, or contract-based environments and is looking for a long-term opportunity with a stable organization.

• Manage project accounting activities from project setup through completion
• Monitor project budgets, costs, billings, and profitability
• Perform job cost analysis and investigate cost variances
• Prepare customer billings and assist with revenue recognition processes
• Reconcile project-related accounts and support month-end close
• Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Track contract values, change orders, and project forecasts
• Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Support internal and external audit requests

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Experience in project accounting, construction accounting, job costing, or a project-based business environment strongly preferred
• Understanding of contract billing and project financial reporting
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
