Construction Accounting Manager – Alpharetta, GA
A strong, stable construction firm is seeking a Construction Accounting Manager to support the CFO and lead a small team of accountants. Hiring immediately for a full-time position in Alpharetta, GA. Due to growth and ongoing success, financial leadership is needed to maintain internal controls and accurate project accounting in a collaborative, fast-paced, and team-oriented atmosphere. Salary is $125k–$135k plus bonus, with excellent benefits.
Position Overview:
We're looking for a hands-on Construction Accounting Manager to manage daily financial operations, support the CFO, and lead a small team. This role is key to maintaining accuracy in job costing and billing while ensuring compliance and financial visibility across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead general accounting, job costing, and billing functions
- Partner with CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Manage month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions
- Ensure compliance with sales tax and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with project managers and operations teams
- Improve processes through financial and construction software tools
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry
- Proficient in Foundation Software, Sage 300/Timberline, or similar
- Experience with Procore or other project management tools
- Strong background in job costing and AIA billing
- Sales tax compliance experience is a plus
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
