Senior​/Tax Manager

Overview

Rushton, a respected Northeast Georgia accounting firm with over 40 years in business, is seeking a Tax Manager to join its growing Tax Division. The position works with associates, senior associates, supervisors, and fellow managers to build client relationships and deliver tax services that support client operations and firm goals.

• Lead and manage the preparation and review process of complex tax returns (including state nexus and international/fiduciary considerations) with strong technical rigor.
• Direct client relationship management and effective communication with staff and clients.
• Perform technical research and document conclusions to support tax positions.
• Demonstrate leadership by coordinating preparation and review timelines, meeting deadlines, and resolving complex tax issues.
• Manage client matters with department leadership and key decision makers.
• Prepare review notes and train staff; maintain awareness of staff work status prior to planning meetings.
• Monitor budgets and billing within the tax department.
• Collaborate as part of the Tax Department Leadership Team for internal planning and process improvements.

• BA/BS in Accounting;
  Master’s Degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.
• Professional certification required (CPA or EA).
• 5+ years of experience with preparing individual and corporate tax returns.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage project timelines and proficiency with accounting technology.
• Availability to work overtime during peak periods; successful completion of a background check; valid credentials to work in the U.S.
