Position SummaryAgilysys is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager with a dotted-line relationship to the Senior Director of Tax, this role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to gain broad exposure across financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and indirect tax functions within a publicly traded, global organization. This position is based in Alpharetta, GA and is expected to work in-office.

This role serves as a critical shared resource between the Accounting and Tax functions, supporting the accuracy and integrity of Agilysys' financial reporting and compliance obligations. The position contributes to monthly close activities, SEC reporting support, indirect tax compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness while providing foundational experience across multiple disciplines within the Office of the CFO. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional seeking exposure to both corporate accounting and tax.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and monthly close activities.
- Prepare and maintain reconciliations and supporting documentation for tax-related accounts, including sales tax, VAT, and other indirect tax liabilities.
- Support indirect tax compliance initiatives and assist with maintaining related internal controls and processes.
- Gather, organize, and validate financial information from domestic and international entities to support consolidations and reporting.
- Assist with customer contract administration and related documentation.
- Support quarterly and annual financial reporting processes, including preparation of schedules and documentation for SEC reporting requirements.
- Provide audit support by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to internal and external auditor requests.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives designed to strengthen financial controls and reporting efficiency.
- Partner with Accounting, Tax, FP&A, Legal, and other cross-functional teams on special projects and business initiatives.
- Support the ongoing development and documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field preferred.
0-2 years of accounting, tax, auditing, or finance experience. - Internship, co-op, public accounting, or corporate accounting experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP principles.
- Exposure to tax concepts, accounting reconciliations, or financial reporting preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Net Suite is a plus.
- CPA eligibility or pursuit of CPA certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
