Job SummaryThe Regional Controller position for Landis+Gyr is a critical member of the global finance operations leadership team and the primary financial controls leader managing and directing the accounting functions in the Americas/Group region, covering USA, Canada, Mexico, SAM, Japan, and Europe. Reporting to the VP, Global Accounting Operations, this position has responsibility for the corporate controls environment and consistently delivering accurate and timely internal and external legal entity financial statements.
The Regional Controller is responsible for leading these efforts and partnering with other areas of business to capture best practices and ensure accounting consistency is realized across the entire organization.
As Regiona l Controller, you will oversee and drive the ongoing improvement of streamline all accounting and financial reporting functions to ensure compliance with local regulations, U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. You will lead month-end/year-end closes, support audit activities, manage internal controls, and ensure accuracy in financial statements and disclosures. Your insights will inform strategic decisions and safeguard the financial health and integrity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual legal entity financial statements under U.S. GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with SEC filing requirements and Sarbanes–Oxley (SOX) standards.
- Support internal and external audits, review audit reports and drive corrective actions.
- Prepare analysis and documentation for fluctuations and variances for each close period .
- Liaise with Group Reporting & FP&A on US GAAP treatment, global accounting policy, SOX and SEC filing requirements.
- Implement and enforce group-wide accounting policies, protocols and controls to ensure consistency, clarity and compliance all at all levels and across the company. Develop local applications of group policies.
- Provide on-going review of accounting systems and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Lead full-cycle accounting processes: GL, accruals, intercompany, fixed assets, leases, and tax provisions.
- Liaison with Shared Service Center team to ensure accurate, timely and effective accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure accuracy in accounting entries and closely monitor account reconciliations and intercompany entries.
- Responsible for reviewing the group account analyses and reconciliations
- Manage the group month end close process and validate accuracy of procedures.
- Review group journal entries for accuracy and GAAP compliance.
- Provide guidance to accounting staff when recording transactions and entries to the general ledger for proper US GAAP and local statutory treatment.
