Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis role will play a critical role in stabilizing and modernizing our U.S. benefits operations, supporting M&A integration, ensuring scalable, compliant programs as Avanos continues to grow. It also offers exposure to global benefits programs and cross‑functional initiatives.
Hybrid role based in Alpharetta, GA – three days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and administer U.S. retirement plans (fundings, file uploads, audits, loans, monitoring integrations, contributions, compliance) and monitor global retirement plans.
- Actively manage vendors and SLAs for relocation, retirement, employee recognition and health and welfare administrators.
- Prepare and monitor compliance calendar for all benefits and coordinate with appropriate parties to ensure timely completion.
- Monitor benefits mailbox, resolve inquiries, provide guidance for Tier 2 issues, and serve as escalation point.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA regulations.
- Lead benefits integrations of M&A into current benefit plans.
- Manage leave and ADA requests, partnering with HRBPs and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
- Perform weekly new‑hire presentations and handle associated references.
- Assist with administration of health‑welfare activities, work on RFPs, annual enrollments, and other HR activities.
- Help administer the employee recognition program, vendor coordination and inquiries.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, provide functional support and ensure continuity of services.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least four years of human resources experience with employee benefits and wellness programs (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Hybrid in‑office schedule (three days per week).
- Experience with Success Factors or other HRIS.
- Professional certification in benefits (CEBS) or HR (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP).
- Deep knowledge of leaves of absence (FMLA, disability, state leaves) and associated payroll adjustments.
- Experience administering 401(k) plans with proven compliance record; global retirement experience a plus.
- Knowledge of health & welfare and wellness programs.
- M&A experience.
- Understanding of benefit laws and regulations (COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, ADA, FMLA).
- Intermediate or expert proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, attention to detail, analytical skills.
- Customer service orientation and ability to resolve interpersonal conflict.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and operate with discretion.
The anticipated average base pay range for this position is $90,000.00 – $. In addition, the role is eligible for an attractive incentive compensation program and benefits.
