Guidance Counselor: Social/Educational, School Counselor, Special Needs / Learning Disabilities
Saint Francis School – Milton Campus is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and student-centered School Counselor to join our growing school community. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting the academic, social, emotional, and personal development of students while fostering a positive school environment.
The School Counselor will work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and administration to provide guidance, support, and resources that help students thrive both academically and personally.
Responsibilities- Providing individual and small-group counseling to students
- Assisting students with academic planning, goal setting, and personal growth
- Supporting students through social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote student success
- Developing and implementing programs that support student wellness, character development, and resilience
- Assisting with crisis intervention and conflict resolution when necessary
- Monitoring student progress and identifying appropriate interventions and support services
- Maintaining accurate and confidential student records in accordance with school policies and professional standards
- Supporting student transitions and helping families navigate academic and personal concerns
- Participating in school events, meetings, and initiatives that contribute to the overall mission of the school
- A master's degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field
- Appropriate counseling certification/licensure or eligibility to obtain certification
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience working with middle and/or high school students preferred
- The ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- A commitment to student well-being, academic excellence, and a collaborative school culture
