DC Network Engineer

Alpharetta, GA / Need to come to office for F2F Round and after selection need to come to office 3 days a week

8-10 years

• Implementation & Deployment:
  Lead the deployment, commissioning, and testing of Ciena optical and packet networking equipment (6500, 5400, 8700 series) or ADVA FSP 3000, 150, or 3000C. Experience with Ciena 6500, Site Manager, and Metro Field Tech scenarios.
• Good knowledge in Routing and Switching Level 3 (With CCNP/CCIE Certificate). Very good understanding on BGP and OSPF is a must.
• Network Migration:
  Perform complex, in-service upgrades and migrations without impacting end-user traffic.
• Configuring and managing network management systems (NMS).
• Supporting optical transport network design (DWDM/CWDM).
• Technical Support:
  Serve as an escalation point for field engineers and customers to resolve complex issues.

• Technical Knowledge:
  Deep understanding of DWDM, OTN, SONET/SDH, and Ethernet.
• Experience:
  
  Experience with Ciena 6500, Site Manager, and Metro Field Tech scenarios.
• Education/
  
  Experience:
  
  Degree with minimum of 10 years’ experience.
• Software
  
  Skills:
  
  Familiarity with Linux, Python scripting, and SQL is good to have.
• Soft Skills:
  
  Strong communication skills.
• Experience with Optical Transport Networking (OTN) equipment.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, IP, and SyncE/IEEE 1588v2 protocols.
• Relevant experience in the telecommunications industry.

• Implementation & Deployment:
  Lead the deployment, commissioning, and testing of Ciena optical and packet networking.
• Generic Managerial
  
  Skills:
  
  Co-ordination with various stakeholders is required. On time report preparation/submission.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
