Overview
The Headquarters' Laboratory Technologist-Battery Test Laboratory(BTL) is an integral part of the Engineering and Laboratory Team. The technologist supports engineering, quality, and manufacturing activities by preparing and testing batteries, individual battery components, and associated samples. The technologist will also collect, analyze, and distribute data to engineers and scientists as per the submitted requests. They will assist with the daily analytical testing utilizing various analytical instrumentation and battery testing equipment.
The Technologist also assists scientists and engineers with special projects requiring technical knowledge. They assist in maintaining all laboratory equipment, instruments, functions, and processes. The Technologist will have main responsibilities in the Battery Test Lab and will also cross-train/assist in the HQ Materials Lab(CML) and the Lithium Ion Lab(Li-Ion). The Technologist will also be responsible for assisting in safely handling, documenting, and coordinating the movement of batteries and other items, requiring strict adherence to hazardous material (HAZMAT) regulations, operating forklifts, managing inventory, inspecting shipments for damage/accuracy, and assisting in leading staff to ensure efficient, compliant, and safe operations of shipping and receiving.
