We are looking for:
* The Researcher is responsible for planning and executing activities as defined by the Research Engineer in various research and development projects in support of product and process development.
We count on you for:
* Execute detailed experimental plans related to polymer process and product development
* Design and install new laboratory-scale chemical processes or modify existing setups
* Operate and maintain relevant equipment, instrumentation, and experimental techniques
* Conduct preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment, including specifying and getting quotes on parts, installations, and repairs from outside resources
* Willingness and ability to work in a laboratory environment, including the handling of chemicals in a safe and appropriate manner
* Provide experimental observations and preliminary data and analysis to project team
* Prepare and submit samples for testing; collect, organize data and communicate to project team
* Document experiments and results
* Maintains a safe work environment for self and others
* Participates in peer and area coordinator safety audits and attends all required safety meetings & training.
* Adheres to relevant work area SOPs and processes
* Overtime (over 40 hrs./work week) and/or alternate shift work may be required
* Performs all other tasks and duties as required

You will bring:
* High School Diploma, or equivalent
* Preferred Education
* Bachelor's/Associate's Degree or Technical Certificate/Diploma in Chemistry, Engineering or related field.
* Minimum Experience
* 3+ years related experience in operation & maintenance of industrial/mechanical equipment, or 1+ years experience with post-secondary Degree/Certificate
* Fabrication experience including design and installation of small-scale chemical reactors is preferred
Minimum Field-of-Expertise
* Knowledge of chemical operations and maintenance of mechanical equipment (i.e. pumps, piping equipment, reactors, etc.)
* Previous experience with polymer synthesis and processing is preferred
* Functional knowledge of computer software related to data processing (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Minitab, etc.) and computerized process control systems
* Ability to read and interpret process drawings and data outputs
* Experience in collecting, recording, and reporting data is strongly preferred

* The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $66,0000-$85,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also may include a bonus and/or other incentives.
