Premier Automation is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our Alpharetta, GA team, where you’ll play a key role in designing electrical control systems for industrial automation projects. This position is focused on developing accurate, production-ready electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials.

This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on EPLAN experience who enjoys working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to support real‑world automation projects from design through production.

Your Experience at Premier
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, daylight office hours
  • Location & Work Environment: Based out of our Alpharetta, GA facility, with time split between office‑based electrical design work and hands‑on shop involvement to support design validation
  • Team & Reporting: Reports to the Facility Operations Manager and Engineering Manager; works closely with engineering and production teams to support project execution and panel builds

  • Interview Process: Virtual screening interview, on‑site interview, and pre‑employment screening
Duties and Responsibilities

As an Electrical Designer, you will:

  • Design and develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials using EPLAN
  • Create accurate, production‑ready drawing packages that can be directly used by manufacturing teams
  • Utilize EPLAN to maintain organized, standardized, and scalable electrical designs
  • Select and specify electrical components based on project requirements and design standards
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs align with project scope and timelines
  • Ensure designs meet applicable electrical codes and standards, including UL508A and NFPA
    70 (NEC)
  • Support design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve accuracy, efficiency, and standardization
  • Assist in maintaining and improving internal EPLAN standards, templates, and documentation practices
  • Work closely with the shop floor to answer design questions and support build execution
Experience and Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, CAD/Drafting, or a related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or control panel design
  • Ability to independently create and modify electrical schematics using EPLAN
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Familiarity with industrial control panel components and layout practices
  • Working knowledge of UL508A and NFPA
    70 (NEC) standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, organized design documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and production teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
