OverviewAre you a self‑motivated Engineer looking to make a significant impact on complex infrastructure projects? As a Traffic Control Engineer, you will play a critical role within our design team by developing and analyzing MOT and temporary traffic control plans that support the safe and efficient construction of our Roadway Project.
Join the $4.6B SR 400 Express Lanes project in Atlanta, one of the largest roadway projects in the United States, delivered through a public‑private partnership led by Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. This landmark infrastructure project includes the design, construction, long‑term operation, and maintenance of the corridor for 50 years, transforming a critical route and supporting mobility in one of the nation's fastest‑growing regions.
Whatyou will be doing
- Provides technical input on construction designs to ensure constructability and compliance with project contract specifications.
- Drafts design plans for Traffic Control, MOT/Traffic management, ensuring completeness and accuracy with regulatory standards and within the contract specifications.
- Assists in traffic control design drawings, phasing plans, detour layouts, signage and pavement marking plans using AutoCAD and related design software.
- Coordinates with roadway design, construction, utilities, and field teams to ensure traffic control strategies align with project staging and constructability requirements.
- Designs temporary construction elements ensuring ease of constructability, cost effectiveness with materials onsite or purchased, balancing between optimization and feasibility of onsite project construction.
- Submits design for peer review or approval review in an accurate and timely manner to avoid construction delays on the project site; senior engineer or manager seals designs following approval review.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural or related Engineering field required.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) preferred.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, RIZA suite, LARSA and MathCAD are a plus.
- Knowledge and skill in technical writing for clear and efficient communication and understanding.
- Knowledge and understanding of constructability and construction practices.
- Verbal, written and interpersonal skills required.
