Your role at Clorox
This role reports into the Senior Manager, OT&EIC Engineering, and leads mid-to-large scale automation projects to drive cost savings, innovation, and operational efficiency. The Electrical and Controls Engineer owns end-to-end project responsibilities including scope definition, design, procurement, vendor management, start-up, and validation.
In this role, you will:- Lead electrical engineering efforts through all phases of capital projects – conceptual, feasibility, scope definition, cost estimates, functional requirements, system design, scheduling, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, startup, and validation.
- Develop and manage estimates, financial analysis, contracts, and purchase orders, applying Clorox Early Management principles to deliver customer expectations with vertical and sustainable project execution.
- Support system start-up and operational checkout on systems, including configuration, wiring, calibration, and power testing. Provide hardware and software application support assistance to engineers and operations.
- Contribute significant technical leadership for major technology efforts in the organization, either as an individual or team member.
- Utilize technical materials such as equipment manuals, system drawings, P&IDs, schematics and blue‑prints to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/control systems, interpreting industry, regulatory, and company specifications and standards.
- Implement capital building and equipment installations to improve manufacturing competitive performance.
- Work in a participative team‑based environment, using manufacturing best‑practice processes and principles, and lead design and implementation of medium to large sized projects and manufacturing improvement projects, integrating outside technical resources.
- Develop manufacturing equipment, processes, and procedures essential for line extensions, product improvements, and new product development.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and finances to meet predetermined Clorox business objectives.
- Provide technical analysis, project cost and schedule estimation, engineering effort forecasting, design recommendations, preparation of design and equipment specifications, design review, construction sub‑contract documentation, and lead construction, commissioning, and start‑up activities at plant facilities.
- Deliver project safety performance objectives.
- Engineering Degree (BSEE or similar).
- 5–8 years of engineering experience in manufacturing controls (CPG, Foods, discrete manufacturing is a plus).
- Strong technical skills related to electrical/instrumentation and controls, industrial power distribution, and Rockwell control systems and devices (must‑have).
- Design capability in multiple disciplines.
- Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, IEC, NEMA, and NFPA standards.
- Knowledge of OT networks including industrial Ethernet, VLANs, switches, firewalls, and secure segmentation of control systems.
- Knowledge of data collection systems (SCADA, MES, Historian, SQL).
- Ability to develop, read and interpret P&IDs and electrical drawings.
- Experience managing outside engineering firms, equipment vendors, and construction contractors to support project execution.
- Experience managing spending to approved capital and expense budgets based on project estimates.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with rotating equipment, elevated surfaces, temperature variations, etc.

We are committed to fair and equitable pay and are transparent with salary ranges. The applicable salary range for the U.S. is based on one of three zones:
Zone A: $88,700 – $165,900;
Zone B: $81,300 – $152,100;
Zone C: $73,900 – $138,300.
This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
