core hours 8-5, 1 hr lunch (M-F regular 40 hour work week)

Screenings: no tech, full panel drug and background once hired

Job Description Summary

The main function of a controls engineer is to design, develop, install, and maintain equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems and processes.

Job Responsibilities

Assists in creating and following electrical design schedule, from specification concept to system up completion, while keeping to an overall project schedule.
Testing, evaluating, modifying and calibrating products and instruments.
Analyze plant processes, design and implement improvements
Troubleshooting issues with hardware and processes.
Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.

Typical Task Breakdown

Designs, modifies, develops, writes, converts and implements software-programming for generator control switch gear human machine interface applications.
Configures, programs and tests HMI hardware.
Work with Power System Engineers to validate/correct HMI programming
Supports HMI issues in the field and provides remote HMI installation support

Interaction with Team

Works hand in hand with the HMI team under the supervision of the AES HMI manager.
Collaborates extensively with the Power System Engineering team to test and validate HMI software development.

Education & Experience Required
