Hours:

core hours 8-5, 1 hr lunch (M-F regular 40 hour work week)

Type:
Contract

Pay: $28-29/hr on w2 (MAX)

Length: 12 months

Screenings: no tech, full panel drug and background once hired

+optional benefits, long term contract with ability to extend

Job Description Summary

The main function of a controls engineer is to design, develop, install, and maintain equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems and processes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists in creating and following electrical design schedule, from specification concept to system up completion, while keeping to an overall project schedule.
  • Testing, evaluating, modifying and calibrating products and instruments.
  • Analyze plant processes, design and implement improvements
  • Troubleshooting issues with hardware and processes.
  • Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
  • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
Typical Task Breakdown
  • Designs, modifies, develops, writes, converts and implements software-programming for generator control switch gear human machine interface applications.
  • Configures, programs and tests HMI hardware.
  • Work with Power System Engineers to validate/correct HMI programming
  • Supports HMI issues in the field and provides remote HMI installation support
Interaction with Team
  • Works hand in hand with the HMI team under the supervision of the AES HMI manager.
  • Collaborates extensively with the Power System Engineering team to test and validate HMI software development.

Education & Experience Required
  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum plus 1-3 years of experience or equivalent experience

  • Internships may be considered, must be relevant
