Utility Services Technician III

• Locate underground utilities such as water, gas, power, fiber optic, and telephone.
• Identify utility sizes, materials, and types.
• Work as part of a two to four man crew.
• Collect existing conditions information for the assessment and identification of underground utilities.
• Assist with operation and maintenance of a vacuum excavation truck.
• Be knowledgeable of the quality levels of SUE and how to differentiate between each one.
• Help implement new technologies and methods.
• Support land survey in the creation of topographic maps.

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Typing ability.
• Familiarity with iOS operating system, a plus.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microstation, a plus.
• 1–3 years of utility designation experience.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Familiarity with iPad or tablet, a plus.
• Minimum education of High School Diploma or GED.

• Position subject to outside environmental conditions.
• Work primarily in the field involving long-term standing and frequent walking, with common hazards at construction and project sites.
• Must carry, lift, and push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Must walk over rough and uneven terrain, standing or walking for 10–12 hour workdays on occasion.
• Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk.
• Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
• Additional physical duties may be necessary.
• Overtime pay at one and a half times the regular rate.
• Per diem for overnight travel.
