* Kimley-Horn's Alpharetta, GA team is seeking a Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join their Solar Structures team! Must be willing to travel. This is not a remote position.
** Responsibilities*
* + Perform structural analysis and design for rooftop solar systems across large building portfolios
+ Evaluate existing structures for solar loading including gravity, wind, and seismic impacts
+ Prepare structural calculations and standardized reports for high-volume projects
+ Review as-built drawings and field data to assess structural capacity
+ Identify retrofit solutions for solar installation feasibility
+ Coordinate with electrical, civil, and solar teams
+ Coordinate and conduct site walks
+ Must be willing to travel
+ Manage multiple concurrent projects with quick turnaround times
+ Support QA/QC reviews and maintain project documentation
** Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
+ Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
+ 1+ years of structural engineering experience
+ Knowledge of building codes (IBC, ASCE
7)
+
Experience with structural analysis software (RAM, RISA, SAP
2000 preferred)
+ Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit
+ Strong communication and organizational skills
+ Must be willing to travel
