About the Role

As a Roadway Engineer, you will conduct work on transportation projects including traffic operations, safety, roadway design, bridge design, transportation planning, and environmental work. You will also prepare engineering reports, plans, specifications, and contract documents; participate in bidding, administer contracts, produce designs, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with clients, contractors, and agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct work on transportation projects including traffic operations, safety, roadway design, bridge design, transportation planning, and environmental work.
  • Prepare engineering reports, plans, and specifications for major and minor projects.
  • Prepare and review preliminary and final plans, technical specifications, contract documents, estimates, and make recommendations for modifications.
  • Participate in contract bidding and administration.
  • Produce designs and monitor progress of projects, coordinating with city, state, and county officials and other agencies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical support personnel.
  • Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, consultants, and firm staff.
  • Communicate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others; resolve complex problems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of 4 years roadway design experience (preferably in Georgia).
  • Valid EIT certification (required); PE licensure preferred.
  • DOT project experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Open Roads Designer (ORD) and/or Micro Station, and Microsoft Office.
