Low Voltage Systems Engineer
We are seeking a Low Voltage Systems Engineer to generate engineering drawings and specifications for low-voltage telecommunications, security, and audio-visual systems for a variety of construction projects. Project types include multiple building uses and system applications. Key Responsibilities
- Design low-voltage systems and prepare engineering drawings and narratives for construction projects
- Develop designs for:
- Access control systems
- CCTV systems
- Intrusion detection systems
- Copper and fiber optic structured cabling systems
- Audio/visual systems
- Plan and design secure facilities, including developing and reviewing protective design standards
- Produce building design packages using Autodesk Revit
- Generate project-specific construction specifications using CSI-based templates
- Provide construction phase support, including:
- Responding to RFIs
- Reviewing submittals
- Conducting field assessments
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- Minimum of 2 years of experience designing facility and low-voltage systems and documenting designs with drawings and narratives
- Working knowledge of applicable telecommunications codes and standards
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university preferred
- Extensive experience in systems installation or maintaining computer networks or other technical systems may be considered in lieu of an engineering degree
- Experience designing:
- Access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems
- Copper and fiber optic structured cabling systems
- Audio/visual systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (BICSI)
- Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) in audio-visual systems design (AVIXA)
- Experience estimating engineering effort for building design projects
