Hydraulic Engineering Co‑Op
Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.
Available for Fall 2026 Rotation
Apply your engineering coursework to real‑world pipeline hydraulic systems.
At Colonial Pipeline, we move over 100 million gallons of fuel every day, supporting nearly 45% of all fuel consumed on the East Coast. As a Hydraulic Engineering Co‑Op, you'll combine classroom learning with hands‑on engineering experience supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of one of the nation's most critical energy infrastructure systems.
This co‑op is designed to support engineering students seeking in‑depth technical exposure, mentorship, and real responsibility over multiple rotations. You'll work alongside experienced hydraulic engineers while developing skills that directly align with a future full‑time engineering career.
Hydraulic Engineering at Colonial focuses on pipeline system modeling, operational analysis, and system optimization to ensure safe and compliant energy transportation. The team partners closely with operations, integrity, and project teams to support sustainable growth and day‑to‑day pipeline performance.
As a co‑op, you'll gain exposure to how hydraulic engineering decisions directly impact real‑world operations—well beyond textbook problems.
