Overview

Care Logistics, a subsidiary of Jackson Healthcare®, is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting function for a $15million technology company. The role will manage the monthly close, financial statements, and key accounting operations while strengthening internal controls and driving process improvements. The Controller will collaborate closely with senior leadership and functional leaders to provide timely financial insights and support forecasting and budgeting processes.

Responsibilities
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close, including journal entries, accruals, and review/approval of account reconciliations.
  • Execute staff‑level accounting work across the full cycle (AP, AR, billing, cash applications, bank reconciliations, payroll entries, sales/use tax filings, and 1099 processing) to maintain continuity during absences or peak periods.
  • Support additional accounting functions as needed, such as commissions, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, balance‑sheet reconciliations, multiple book sets, AWS costs, labor allocations, budgeting, forecasting, and intercompany transactions.
  • Manage the general ledger and ensure balance‑sheet integrity through reconciliations and issue resolution.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements and management reporting packages (P&L, balance sheet, cash, KPIs) for business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Partner with leadership on the annual budget, periodic forecasting, and provide variance analysis and actionable insights.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Operations, Product, and corporate finance to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, and contract/revenue interpretation.
  • Design, document, and maintain accounting policies and internal controls; proactively identify and remediate control gaps.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the close, reporting, and billing‑to‑cash processes by leveraging systems, automation, and scalable workflows.
  • Own ASC
606 revenue accounting, including contract review support, billing/revenue schedules, deferred revenue, and monthly revenue recognition entries.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small accounting team (currently 2 direct reports), setting clear priorities, reviewing work, and ensuring timely, accurate deliverables.
  • Lead ad-hoc analyses and special projects, including support for strategic initiatives, pricing/contracting changes, and process redesign.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including technology revenue recognition (ASC
    606) and accrual accounting.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with 3+ years in a controllership or similar leadership role.
  • Hands‑on transactional accounting experience across the full cycle.
  • Experience owning month‑end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with software/technology business models (subscriptions, services, implementation, or usage‑based revenue) preferred.
  • Experience partnering with business leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience coordinating external audit and tax provider requests; capable of managing PBC schedules and deliverables.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and judgment skills; excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Process and systems orientation; proven ability to improve close speed, accuracy, and controls.
  • Strong Excel and ERP/BI reporting tool skills.
  • High integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
  • People leader with experience coaching and developing a small team.
  • Player‑coach mindset; willing to perform staff‑level accounting work when required.
  • Servant‑leader posture, sound judgment under ambiguity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA preferred.
