The Cash Application Supervisor will implement policies and control procedures in the handling, processing, and deposit of cash receipts. Oversee the daily overall function of the Cash Application team in a manner that will reduce the time it takes for reported payment deposits to be applied to customer accounts/invoices and reduce unidentified/unapplied payments. This role is also responsible for managing a team of Cash Application Specialists.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Cash Application Specialists
- Ensure accurate application of customer payments and exception handling by the Cash Application Team
- Daily l application of cash receipts to customer accounts in A/R subledger via file feeds or reporting from the bank
- Serve as backup to reconcile and apply credit card payments from customers based on merchant service reporting
- Serve as backup to process checks received through remote desktop deposits
- Perform month-end closing procedures associated with cash receipts, including preparation of the monthly cash receipts reconciliation
- Assist Credit Managers with investigating account discrepancies and managing unapplied cash receipts for timely resolution
- Maintain relationships with the Credit Department and banks to resolve cash application issues
- Assist with special projects, bank audits, and questions from other corporate departments related to cash receipts
- Partner with Credit leadership team and IT to improve system functionality or to fix system-related issues
Minimum Qualifications:
5 years of work experience in cash application
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Finance or Accounting
- Proven experience in successfully leading a cash applications team
- Proven ability to perform well under pressure and in a high-volume and changing environment
- Proven ability to excel in a team environment
