Credit Analyst - First City Bank
This role is responsible for analyzing financial statements, cash flows, and credit histories to assess the creditworthiness of commercial and consumer borrowers. The Credit Analyst will prepare written credit memoranda, support loan structuring, and recommend credit limits and terms in line with bank policies and regulatory guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring existing credit exposures, tracking portfolio performance, updating risk ratings, and collaborating with relationship managers to support sound lending decisions.
The role also involves clear communication of credit findings, participation in credit committee discussions, and adherence to internal risk management and compliance standards.
• Analyze personal and company financial statements, credit history, collateral, and other factors to evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers.
• Prepare financial spreads and credit memos for prospective commercial loans.
• Compile and review market data.
• Support execution of the Company Business Plan.
• Represent the bank in community activities, fostering relationships with civic organizations, nonprofits, and local leaders.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required.
• Advanced coursework, professional certifications, or specialized training in credit analysis, risk management, or commercial lending are preferred.
• Strong understanding of finance principles, including commercial lending concepts, financial statement analysis, basic accounting, and risk/return evaluation.
• Previous experience in banking, commercial credit analysis, underwriting, or a related financial services role preferred.
• Candidates with exceptional quantitative, analytical, and financial acumen will also be considered.
• Demonstrated expertise in credit analysis and risk assessment, including evaluating borrower strength, identifying credit risks, and recommending appropriate loan structures.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements, cash flow projections, industry trends, and market data to support sound credit decisions.
• Proven ability to review, analyze, and interpret policies, contracts, credit reports, financial reports, and legal documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience using financial analysis, loan origination, and core banking systems.
