World Wide Technology is looking for a Firewall Subject Matter Expert (SME). This role is part of WWT’s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT’s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $80.00 to $85.00 hourly on W2 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ.

Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.

• Develop robust relationships with internal and external customers to ensure technically sound solutions. Identify and address issues to ensure project delivery within budget and on time.
• Collaborate with project teams to drive significant tech refresh activities, achieving impactful results.
• Analyze challenges, provide clear guidance, and steer teams toward effective solutions.
• Evaluate platform capacities, predict required infrastructure additions, and ensure sustained performance levels.
• Contribute to establishing engineering standards and ensure their successful implementation, measurement, and reporting.
• Showcase proficiency in firewalls, intrusion systems, networking, databases, HA/DR, virtual systems, PCI compliance, and other IT regulations.
• Lead the technical design of enterprise network security systems, leveraging your architectural familiarity with WAN & LAN, Security, Firewall, XML Gateway, Virtualization, HA/DR, and WAF.
• Demonstrate expertise in Python scripting, and stay attuned to evolving security frameworks.
• Collaborate effectively with infrastructure/application architects, senior managers, and project managers to develop solutions' infrastructure components.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for high-availability solutions in a 24x7x365 environment.
• Independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and proactively resolve issues.
