Job Title: Kubernetes Container Platform Engineer
Location: Alpharetta, GA / Omaha, NE (Onsite, 5 days per week)
Duration: Contract-to-Hire (W2 Only)
About the RoleAs a Kubernetes Container Platform Engineer (PaaS & CaaS), you will design, implement, and operate container platforms with a strong focus on automation and infrastructure-as-code. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams to leverage both infrastructure and public cloud services, enabling self-service automation and orchestration. This role involves platform administration, client onboarding, upgrades, and global standardization of container services across the enterprise.
You will be part of a small, agile team of architects and engineers, building platform services that support the lifecycle of container platforms and simplify adoption for over 20,000 developers and Dev Ops teams.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and operate container services platforms integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate processes to improve efficiency and eliminate repetitive manual tasks.
- Diagnose, replicate, and resolve technical issues reported on PaaS and CaaS platforms.
- Develop maintainable, reusable software with a consumer-first mindset.
- Escalate unresolved issues requiring deeper expertise in a timely manner.
- Manage support requests and maintain communication with business unit customers.
- Report product defects and collaborate with engineering teams to triage issues.
- Create and review knowledge base articles and product documentation.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree 3 years of relevant experience OR advanced degree 4 years of experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience building and maintaining container platforms (PAS/TAS, PKS/TKGI, Open Shift).
- Hands-on experience deploying Kubernetes on at least one public IaaS provider (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Alibaba).
- Strong background in UNIX/Linux and Windows administration.
- Experience with configuration management at scale (hundreds/thousands of servers).
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, DNS).
- Knowledge of distributed systems and virtualization (VMware).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Concourse, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, etc.).
- Experience with version control systems (Git, Git Hub, Git Lab).
- Background in Dev Ops and agile methodologies.
- On-call support experience.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in Go and Python.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code APIs (Swagger).
- Knowledge of identity, access, and certificate management.
- Experience with observability tools (Splunk, Fluentd, Promethe Grafana, Wavefront, App Dynamics).
- Familiarity with .NET Core and .NET Framework.
- Experience with policy engines (Open Policy Agent).
- NSX, NSX-T, Panorama experience.
- Experience with vSphere7 and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid.
