Senior Network Security Engineer – Cybersecurity Focus

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Over 5 years of practical experience in network engineering with a special emphasis on firewall management
• In-depth knowledge of firewall technologies (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
• Solid grasp of network protocols, routing, switching, and LAN/WAN architectures
• Experience with VoIP, Vyatta routers, VMware, and telecom settings is advantageous
• Familiarity with cloud security tools and services in AWS and GCP
• Proficient in IDPS, SIEM platforms, and network monitoring tools
• CCNA / CCNP certification is required; CISSP, CompTIA Network+, or cloud security certifications are preferred
• Bonus: experience in scripting (Python, Bash) and network automation tools

• Configure, administer, and enhance firewall devices (Vyatta, Fortinet Forti Gate) within cloud environments
• Implement security protocols to prevent unauthorized access and reduce threats
• Monitor and scrutinize firewall logs to identify and address suspicious behavior
• Perform vulnerability scans and security evaluations to locate and rectify risks
• Lead incident response actions and facilitate cross-department remediation
• Promote security awareness and provide training sessions across various teams
• Design and deploy cloud security architectures in AWS and GCP (VPCs, IAM, security groups, access management)
• Utilize cloud-native security solutions (WAF, IDS/IPS, SIEM) to safeguard infrastructure
• Ensure adherence to compliance standards (CIS, NIST, ISO) and cloud security best practices
• Work collaboratively to develop secure and high-performance network solutions
• Diagnose connectivity problems, latency, and packet loss in distributed systems
• Oversee and enhance network performance, plan capacity expansions, and implement monitoring systems
• Maintain comprehensive documentation regarding firewall configurations, network schematics, and security procedures
